Seven Course Sicilian Dinner - Italian Sculptor Salvatore Rizzuti Unveils Persephone

On this very special fall evening, Salvatore Rizzuti, world renowned sculptor,  has flown in from Sicily to officially  present Sotto Sopra’s owner and chef, Riccardo Bosio, his commissioned statue of Persephone.  In Greek mythology, Persephone represents new beginnings with spring vegetation, life and harvest in the fall when the ground goes dormant, death. Rizzuti’s statue of Persephone is carved of two woods, cypress and olive, representing the cycle of life and in loving memory of Riccardo’s mother, Renata. 

Salvatore Rizzuti’s humble beginning started in Caltabellotta, Agrigento province of Sicily and is now home to a museum dedicated to over 60 of his donated sculptures.  He is an educator as well, holding a Chair of Sculpture at the Accademia Belle Arti of Palermo for over 34 years. Riccardo invites you to join him on this special evening where he is preparing a dinner representative of the cuisine of Rizzuti’s Sicily. There are only sixty seats available – early reservations/tickets highly recommended.
