JAZZ WEDNESDAY - RODERICK DEMMINGS JR

Join us for dinner and enjoy the amazing talents of Roderick Demmings on the keyboards.

Roderick Demmings Jr. began playing the piano as a toddler. Being raised in gospel church, “Rod” was surrounded by music. Much of his current style stems from his roots in the black, gospel Church. After two years of piano lessons, he debuted on solo piano at Carnegie Hall. He then pursued pipe organ where he merited a full scholarship to attend Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, graduating with a B.A. in Organ Performance.

Just Friends Jazz Ensemble -CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER

Join us for dinner, kick back and enjoy the cool jazz from the Just Friends Ensemble.

“Just Friends” plays a wide range of jazz and popular music from the Great American Songbook in addition to imaginative interpretations of contemporary songs from standards to the Beatles and beyond. The group’s four members have played around the Baltimore area for decades and its cumulative musical experience totals over two hundred years. Dr. Lake holds a degree in composition from Peabody Conservatory of Music and has recently completed writing his first opera – Lola. Weaving together a unique blend of musical styles is the hall mark of this creative, innovative instrumental collaboration. The group recently celebrated its first anniversary playing together.
