Roderick Demmings Jr. Jazz Duo

Join us for dinner and the cool jazz sounds from the Roderick Demmings Jr. Jazz Duo.  Demmings began playing the piano as a toddler. Being raised in gospel church, “Rod” was surrounded by music. Much of his current style stems from his roots in the black, gospel Church. After two years of piano lessons, he debuted on solo piano at Carnegie Hall. He then pursued pipe organ where he merited a full scholarship to attend Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, graduating with a B.A. in Organ Performance.

7 Course Sicilian Dinner - honorary guest - Italian sculptor Salvatore Rizzuti

SOLD OUT On this very special fall evening, Salvatore Rizzuti, world renowned sculptor,  has flown in from Sicily to officially  present Sotto Sopra’s owner and chef, Riccardo Bosio, his commissioned statue of Persephone.  In Greek mythology, Persephone represents new beginnings with spring vegetation, life and harvest in the fall when the ground goes dormant, death. Rizzuti’s statue of Persephone is carved of two woods, cypress and olive, representing the cycle of life and in loving memory of Riccardo’s mother, Renata. 

Riccardo invites you to join him on this special evening where he is preparing a 7 course dinner representative of the cuisine of Rizzuti’s Sicily. There are only sixty seats available – early reservations/tickets highly recommended.

A graduate of the esteemed jazz program at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University in Montreal, his growing list of performance credits includes shows with Antonio Hart, Warren Wolf, Winard Harper, Dick Oatts, and Tim Green.
