Due to unfortunate accident, Roderick Demmings Jr has had to cancel his appearance. As soon as he is well enough we will have him back.
Join us for dinner at Sotto Sopra Restaurant and enjoy the amazing talents of Roderick Demmings on the keyboards and Brandon Woody on the trumpet
Roderick Demmings Jr. began playing the piano as a toddler. Being raised in gospel church, “Rod” was surrounded by music. Much of his current style stems from his roots in the black, gospel Church. After two years of piano lessons, he debuted on solo piano at Carnegie Hall. He then pursued pipe organ where he merited a full scholarship to attend Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, graduating with a B.A. in Organ Performance.
Though a classically trained musician, his primary influences stem from Jazz, RnB, Gospel, Soul, and Pop. Rod is a big fan of the American Songbook and renders many selections from it during his concerts
Brandon Woody is a classical trumpet player/ composer from Baltimore, and an Alumni of Baltimore School for the Arts and Peabody Preparatory. Brandon has attended the Brubeck Institute which is a full scholarship Jazz program in California.
