Nico Sarbanes/Blake Meister Jazz Duo

We are pleased to announce that our native son, Nico Sarbanes, is back in Baltimore for a short visit so we scooped him up to come play during one of our Jazz Wednesday, February 27th /6 pm to 9 pm. Sarbanes is a talented young performers, combining a virtuosic technique on the trumpet with an impressive command of the vocal repertoire of the Great American Songbook. A graduate of the esteemed jazz program at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University in Montreal, his growing list of performance credits includes shows with Antonio Hart, Warren Wolf, Winard Harper, Dick Oatts, and Tim Green.

Meister is currently a bassist for the American Studio Orchestra, a multi-media, cross-genre ensemble, and has been a member of several traditional orchestras in the Mid-Atlantic area. As an educator, he serves on the faculty of the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University, teaching lessons and courses.

Blake Meister has performed and recorded with a diverse group of renowned musicians, including Gary Thomas, Larry Willis, Katharine McPhee, Mýa, Marc Copland, David Kikoski, Gary Bartz, Steve Davis, Warren Wolf, Ahn Sook Sun, Buddy Wachter, Paul Bollenback, Eddie Henderson, Ingrid Jensen, Jeremy Pelt, Jack DeJohnette, Ralph Peterson, Dennis Chambers, Nasheet Waits, and Tim Warfield, among others.
